Every property older than 1978 must be registered with the Maryland Dept of the Environment. It is an "affected" property. Meaning it was built during a time when lead paint was popular and used on most properties in Maryland. Lead paint was popular during the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and part of the 1970's. Lead inspector explains. Get your tracking number by googling register my property with MDE. Call Maryland Dept of the Environment at 410-577-4199 to get tracking number. Maryland Tenant 
Mold Protection Act Approved by the Governor
July 1, 2025:  Department of the Environment, the Maryland Department of Health, the Department of Housing and Community Development, the Maryland Department of Labor, and the Department of General Services to develop a certain pamphlet and website; requiring a landlord to provide a tenant with certain information at certain times and in a certain manner; requiring a landlord to perform a mold assessment and mold remediation within 15 days after receipt of a written notice regarding the detection of mold.
